They carried almost nothing — a small pouch of coins at most. Their only distinguishing feature is the mask, which is a different bird from the one worn by the man who came for Adrian. The party took none alive, and the question of who they serve and why they came for the young lord is unanswered.

The portals that flooded Valecourt Manor with ghouls were held open by hooded figures in delicate finch-bird masks, spaced out behind the fighting and concentrating rather than fighting themselves. Break their concentration and the portal wavered; kill the last of them and it collapsed.

Hooded figures found channeling the ghoul portal in the Valecourt courtyard and a second portal in the manor basement. Three of them worked the courtyard portal in concert. They carried virtually no possessions — a small pouch of coins at most — and their only genuinely distinguishing feature was their masks, which are articulately crafted representations of a finch.
Breaking a cultist's concentration weakened the portal; breaking the last one's collapsed it entirely. Nobody managed to take one alive. The finch masks are notably distinct from the raven mask worn by the figure who abducted Adrian.
